Hi there!

I'm Jorja, the artist.

I can't remember a time in my life when I wasn't drawing or creating art, and my style has certainly changed a lot over the years. Throughout my creative exploration, I've found comfort in creating whimsical pen illustrations that engulf me in my own cosy, dreamy, storybook world. I get completely lost in the details of an artwork, finding each line, leaf, stipple, and star to be more soothing to lay down than the last.

My illustrations are reflections of my tender love for the environment, in which I see every leaf, every vein, every bug, and every grain as fundamental to the larger picture and all equally deserving of the same time, care, and attention.

I love exploring the bush and uncovering the spectacular intricacies nature has to offer us if we take the time to look. As an ecologist, I spend a lot of time on my hands and knees peering into the magical world of the forest floor, marvelling at symbiotic fairytales unfolding in the mats of  moss, lichen, fungi.

My appreciation for thoughtful detail extends throughout my life, and my illustrations are a direct expression of this. Take a step closer and enjoy a moment of stillness while your eyes and imagination wander.
